Auschwitz
Auschwitz concentration camp was the largest of it's kind established by the nazi regime. Auschwitz began forming in 1940. It included three main camps, and all three included using prisoners for forced labour. This camp was where the largest mass murder in history took place. Auschwitz was heavily guarded with electric fencing, SS guards and their dogs constantly on patrol. There were guard towers as well which meant escape was nearly impossible. roll call was taken every morning and evening to confirm that all prisoners were present. 1.1 million people were killed in Auschwitz and 90% of them were jews. They were killed in gas chambers with the pesticide Zyklon B and were burned in crematoriums.
